Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya (ANV) is more than a community language school—it is a place where language, culture, community and generations come together.
Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya (ANV) is a community language school established under Adelaide Nepali Samaj Australia Incorporated (ANSAI). ANV operates as an initiative of ANSAI and is governed in accordance with the ANSAI Constitution, policies, and governance framework.
ANSAI provides strategic oversight, financial governance, risk management, child safety governance, and organisational support to ensure the long-term sustainability and success of the school.
ANV is also a registered Community Language School with the Community Language Schools SA (CLSSA). Through its registration with CLSSA, ANV meets the required standards for community language education and is eligible to participate in professional development opportunities, sector support programs, and applicable government funding initiatives.
ANV - Park HolmeThe day-to-day leadership and management of ANV are the responsibility of the Principal and School Leadership Team. Together with teachers and volunteers, they deliver high-quality Nepali language and cultural education while operating within the governance framework established by ANSAI.
Over the years, ANV has grown into a vibrant community organisation that brings together students, parents, volunteers, educators and community leaders through education, cultural celebration and community engagement.
Every community has a responsibility to preserve its language, culture and identity for future generations. Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya was founded on this belief.
As the Nepali community in South Australia continued to grow, families recognised the importance of creating opportunities for children to learn the language of their parents and grandparents while maintaining a meaningful connection to Nepal's rich traditions and values.
What began as a small community initiative has since grown into one of South Australia's most established Nepali community language schools.
Today, ANV is a place where students confidently speak Nepali, celebrate cultural festivals, perform traditional dances, learn music, participate in sports, develop leadership skills and create lifelong friendships.
Behind every class is a team of passionate volunteers, supportive families and dedicated community members who generously contribute their time, knowledge and experience to ensure every student has the opportunity to learn, grow and belong.
Our story continues to be written by every student who discovers the joy of speaking Nepali, every volunteer who gives back to the community and every family who chooses to become part of the ANV journey.
Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya was established in 2015 with a shared vision of preserving the Nepali language, culture and heritage for future generations living in Australia.
The vision for Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya began to take shape under the leadership of Manju Khadka, whose dedication helped lay the foundation for establishing the school.
Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya officially commenced operations, welcoming its first students and establishing regular Nepali language classes for the community.
The school continued to grow, strengthening its programs and expanding community participation.
The leadership team focused on maintaining quality programs while continuing to support students and families through changing community needs.
ANV continued to grow through strong volunteer engagement, improved school operations and an increasing focus on student learning and community activities.
The school further strengthened its educational programs, volunteer network and community partnerships while continuing to celebrate Nepali language and culture.
Today, Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya continues to build on the strong foundations established by previous leaders, remaining committed to high-quality language education, celebrating Nepali culture and creating meaningful opportunities for students and families to connect, learn and thrive.
The success of Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya is the result of the collective efforts of every principal, administrator, vice principal, teacher, volunteer, parent and supporter who has contributed to the school's journey.
